Edinburgh Zoo is known and loved the world-over; as a prominent centre for Conservation and Research and as a leading visitor attraction, having provided fun and informative experiences to all age groups for over 100 years.
And did someone say pandas?
The UK's only Giant Pandas (as well as over 1000 animals) are lucky to call Edinburgh Zoo home.
Edinburgh Zoo is part of the Royal Zoological Society Scotland. And through our Digital Partnership with RZSS and in addition to www.edinburghzoo.org.uk we are responsible for RZSS's suite of sites: www.rzss.org.uk, www.highlandwildlifepark.org.uk and www.budongo.org - a standalone campaign site.
At the heart of Edinburgh Zoo's user-engagement strategy is its highly visual and interactive content with a focus on the animals of course. In addition to this visual impact, the site must reflect the Zoo’s impressive heritage and embrace its wider Conservation and commercial ambitions.
Key for RZSS is central management across its sites to streamline maintenance and share content such as Conservation news and events - all of which is comfortably handled by the Umbraco open source platform.
Mobile-friendly design and usability needs to be consistent across this digital suite too; offering users the world over the content they need when planning a visit or at the Zoo itself.
Radiator was recommended to us and since the start of the project it was obvious why. The team took the time to understand not just the project but our wider organization and regularly provided suggestions and improvements above and beyond the original brief.
The project has been delivered on time, and on budget and Radiator has been a pleasure to work with throughout.
