Brief


The Clydeside Distillery is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky distillery, visitor experience, café, specialist whisky shop and exclusive use events venue, which sits Clydeside in the heart of Glasgow. 

Radiator was selected to create an enhanced user experience that communicates the Distillery’s brand story; enticing users from across the world to dive deep into the fascinating history of Glasgow and Whisky and discover our client’s expansive and unique range of offerings.  

As a leading drinks brand with a rich heritage (the Distillery is owned by Owned by Morrison Glasgow Distillers Ltd.) this revised website must lead to increased customer acquisition and retention through online sales, tours and bookings. 

Seamless integration with CRM platform Access Gamma needed to underpin the Distillery’s availability, live bookings and online sales processing and the website had to be positioned at the heart of a refreshed digital marketing strategy - encompassing paid/organic search and socials.

Solution

Working closely with San Francisco based Brand agency Manual to define the Distillery's distinct value proposition and visual identity to maximise online reach, engagement and conversion in an increasingly crowded marketplace. 

Also embracing quantifiable user journeys which are forked to simultaneously appeal to visitors seeking to dive into themes of provenance and heritage, purchase whisky, merchandise or vouchers, book a tour or make an events-related enquiry.

Clear and visual banners with calls to action promoting the Distilleries Tours as well as their Whisky process / products can be activated throughout the site as required and build the overall brand experience. 

To meet the needs of promoting unique and immersive brand stories and speedy shopping/booking experience at the same time, a hybrid Umbraco-Shopify solution was deployed; offering our client the best of both worlds from a story-telling and eCommerce perspective. 

Umbraco also offers flexibility to integrate with almost any 3rd party platform - and in the Distillery’s case, seamless integration with CRM/Ticketing platform Access Gamma allows our client to manage the complete online user journey from awareness and engagement to conversion and ongoing CRM.
